On the 19th of January, 2017, SusWatch Kenya's National Coordinator, Nobert Nyandire commissioned a dispensary project in Kakmie sub-location, Kisumu County. The dispensary project is one of the 8 climate change adaptation projects being implemented in Rwanda, Uganda, Tanzania and Kenya. These projects stem from the Community Climate Change Adaptation Assessment which was conducted between the months of August and November 2015. SusWatch Kenya won the grant to conduct the assessment in the 5 East African states.

25 January 2017

A community inception meeting has been organized for the community groups in Kisumu East and West on the 27th of January, 2017. The meeting is targeting about 30 representatives of community groups operating within Kisumu County. The representatives will be briefed on the Devolution and Climate Change Adaptation programme in Western Kenya and the role they will play in achieving the goal of the programme.

The meeting will be held at Royal City Hotel, Kisumu.

Introduction and Background Information:

The fifteenth session of the Convention's subsidiary body that assists the Parties to plan for and review the reports of work submitted by Parties, known as the Committee for the Review of Implementation of the Convention (CRIC), took place in Nairobi, Kenya, from 17 to 21 October 2016. The CRIC was established by decision 1/COP 5, as subsidiary body to the COP to assist it in regularly reviewing the implementation of the Convention.

Water is life- Maji Ni uhai; our very existence as human beings is hinged on water. It is linked to Agriculture, energy, sanitation and health; but its accessibility is still a problem in the 21st century. A report by the UN states that 768 million people in the world do not have access to a safe, reliable source of water and the majority of these numbers are in the developing countries.
